NMEA 2000 networks are simple, fast, and allow different makes of instruments and sensors to communicate with each other in a standardized fashion.

Sensors are available now which connect directly to the NMEA backbone, meaning you can buy a speed/depth/temp sensor without buying a matching set of dial instruments. Avia instruments display the information on screens which can be resized, dimmed and reconfigured far more flexibly and considering a full system, at lower cost.

All our applications also accept data in the older NMEA 0183 format, supporting up to 3 0183 ports simultaneously. NMEA 2000 data requires only one USB port on the standard PCs we use. an Actisense NGT-1 gateway connects the PC to the NMEA 2000 network and allows 2 way data transfer.
